Sledding: Good For The Soul

Last night I took a walk with a friend around the Art Museum area.
Low and behold, (don’t you love that expression?) the entire steps were covered with snow and people where sledding down the steps!
I found a piece of discarded plastic trash can lid as if it were a diamond and ran up the part that was shoveled.
I stood at the top thinking, I DON’T WANT TO KILL MY ASS or self!
I sat down and pushed off and screamed: WEEEEEEE all the way down. My ass was ok at the bottom and I ran back up to do it again.
MY God! I haven’t gone sledding since high school. I’m such an old fart.
I tell you, I’m hooked on sledding.
And sledding down the Art Museum steps at night is a gas! When in my life time have I ever sledded on the Art Museum? Never! It’s a magnificent roller coaster of bumps, snow, ice, screams, and star lit perfection.
I kept picturing Yoga Unites for Living Beyond Breast Cancer in May and how the snow would all be gone. But RIGHT NOW! This was so much fun! I couldn’t stop laughing. Especially at the end, when I’d lean back in a modified “Boat” pose and crash into the side walk.
Ah, the joy of letting go and sliding into the Parkway.
Who knew that so much fun awaited?
Above: Dori Costello sent me a fabulous Tree Pose in her back yard.
Happy Sledding and SNOWGA!

i LOVE this!!!
Weeeeee! Makes me definitely want to try snowboarding. I need to go convince a kid to “let me “hold” your snowboard.”
